Welcome to the Larimar Mine Tour from Barahona!
We will begin our trip exploring the impressive Larimar Mine, where you will discover the extraction of this spectacular blue semi-precious stone, unique in the whole world. You will be able to witness the entire process of extraction and selection of the larimar, and you will see how the miners work hard in the mine to extract this exclusive gem.
We will continue our trip to the Larimar Workshop School and Museum, a space where you can admire the jewelry made by local artisans and learn more about the history and culture of larimar. In addition, you will have the opportunity to purchase larimar jewelry for yourself or as a souvenir.
After visiting the Workshop School, we will head towards the magnificent Playa Paraíso, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch with a spectacular view of the sea. You will be able to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape while you taste the typical gastronomy of the region.

Tour Program
Mina de Larimar
You will be picked up at your hotel in a safari-type truck and will be transferred along with other clients on the road to the Philippines, a small community where the only blue Pectonite mine in the country and in the world is located, Larimar, a semiprecious stone the color blue. On the way you will enjoy beautiful panoramic views. During the visit to the mine you will be able to observe the miners in the process of extracting the stone and accompany them in their search if you prefer. Extremely soft feminine stone that provides calm, balance and facilitates childbirth. On a psychological level, it brings serenity and love to its environment as well as stimulates creativity.
Escuela Taller y Museo Larimar
We will visit the Larimar Workshop School and Museum where you will learn about the process involved in making jewelry from the larimar stone, a semi-precious stone, unique in the world with a beautiful blue color, declared the national stone of the Dominican Republic. In this place you can even buy if you like.
