The “Pedernales, Cabo Rojo, and Hoyo Pelempito” tour is an exciting adventure through some of the most impressive places in the southwest of the Dominican Republic. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the Cabo Rojo wetlands, enjoy panoramic views from the Hoyo de Pelempito viewpoint, visit the community of Las Mercedes in Pedernales, and relax on the beautiful Cabo Rojo beach.
The tour will begin at the Cabo Rojo wetlands, an important coastal ecosystem that houses a variety of wildlife, including migratory birds. Visitors can walk along the trails and observe the various species of birds and animals that inhabit this unique environment.
Next, the tour will head to the Hoyo de Pelempito viewpoint, where visitors can enjoy stunning views of the surroundings. From this viewpoint, visitors will have a panoramic view of the landscape of the area, including the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.

Mirador Hoyo de Pelempito
Explore the Hoyo de Pelempito, traveling along the Panoramic Highway to reach Aceitillar, where you can see the spectacular and huge craters belonging to bauxite mining. Passing through four types of forest, to reach the "Hoyo de Pelempito" Visitors Center. where visitors can go hiking and enjoy the panoramic views.
Snack in the "Las Mercedes" community where you can share both with the Dominican population and with communities from the neighboring country of Haiti settled in this community.
